What service does NTT Europe Online provide?
NTT Europe Online provides a fully managed virtualization solution, based on VMware technnology, on top of dedicated hardware environments.
The VMware approach to virtualization inserts a thin layer of software directly on the hardware or on a host operating system. This software layer creates virtual servers and contains a virtual monitor that allocates hardware resources dynamically and transparently so that multiple operating systems can run concurrently on a single physical server without even knowing it. However, virtualizing a single physical server is just the beginning. NTT Europe Online and VMware offer a robust virtualization platform that can scale across many physical server and storage devices to form a much larger virtual infrastructure.
The virtualization offer is based on 3 layers:
1. Hypervisor layer
The software that allows multiple virtual machines to run on one physical server.
2. Virtual Machine (VM) layer
NTT Europe Online provides pre-built virtual machines with different operating systems, monitoring levels and incident management.
3. Service layer
Different service levels are available to fit customer needs.
