Oracle and Verio partnership for On Demand Services

Verio Europe, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT Communications,  today announced a partnership with Oracle Corporation to provide data hosting solutions for Oracle's On Demand European customers.

This partnership enables Oracle's European customers to use the Oracle on Demand service via local Verio servers situated in London, Frankfurt, Paris and Madrid.

Today's announcement will see the expansion of the Oracle Grid to include Verio hosting solutions delivered via Verio’s data centres. The service will be an exact replica of the service delivered from Oracle's own data centers in other parts of the globe and is based on an identical technology stack comprised of Intel, Linux, Oracle Database and Application Servers, and Oracle E-business and Collaboration Suite solutions.

By partnering with Verio, Oracle will be able to offer its European customer base enhanced security solutions, including managed firewalls and intrusion detection. For those customers whose business is electronic content delivery, Verio's Smart Content Delivery (SCD) solution will offer a platform that significantly reduces businesses' network costs.

Oracle technology and applications are often complex solutions integrated with third-party software. Verio offers a one-stop shop to deliver a high-quality managed service for these packages.”

In addition, Verio has strategic corporate alliances with Microsoft, Cisco and Sun that enable them to deliver a broad range of managed service solutions to Oracle's customers.
